Exam

  • The course program is divided into two parts (Part A and Part B) each of which consists of lectures and practice classes. The first test in progress relates to Part A. The second test in progress is related to Part B. Each of the two tests consists of questions regarding the theory presented in class, problems similar to those seen during the practice classes. The test usually lasts 2 hours and has a maximum score of 33.
  • At the discretion of the teacher and only during the course, an extra couple (2) of points per person that may be awarded for particularly outstanding work during class (notable questions, important notations, brilliant solutions of exercises…). To obtain such points it is crucial to send an e-mail to the teacher via the following link no later than two days after the class, by adding to the subject the student name and surname and by replacing the word “at” (including spaces) with the @ sign (without spaces).
  • All tests are normally in written form and take place without books or notes. In case of need, the teacher can decide to take the test in oral form, or to verify the preparation of some students, particularly those who are at the limit of sufficiency or next to 30 e lode, through oral interviews. In this case, interested students will be notified at the time of communication of marks.
  • To pass the exam through the course tests the student needs to obtain:
    • At least 8 in evidence relating to Part A
    • At least 8 in evidence relating to Part B
    • At least 18 as overall score, resulting from the sum of the arithmetical average of the points obtained during the course tests. Any extra-points earned otherwise do not contribute to the attainment of sufficiency.
  • Those who did not pass the tests in progress or were not satisfied with the marks obtained must repeat the full exam (i.e. no single parts can be “saved”)
  • Participation to any exams must be regularly registered via Poliself within the time allowed by the University. The teacher does not authorize the students to participate to exams to which they are not formally registered.
  • It is particularly important that the contact e-mail or telephone provided by each student at the General Services is valid and in use: all the last-minute changes relating to tests and/or marks will be communicated only through the contact.
  • At the end of the appeals of the last useful recovery, candidates who have not passed the exam will be rejected.
